Volunteer Positions:

Set up of FacilityWork with the setup coordinator to prepare site for weekend races (i.e. unpacking boxes, putting table clothes on, stuff programs etc.)


Paddock ControlVolunteers in this area  assist in pedestrian safety and the smooth movement of the racecars to the track entrance or their pits.  Volunteers in this area will be given assigned stations (a rotation of volunteers will be attempted due to the long hours of standing).  Act as information points for spectators or participants. All volunteers working in this area will know proper procedures for emergencies or reporting of incidents.

Ticket Booth -  Work with SOVREN Registration on media registration.  During the race weekend, responsible for sales of spectator tickets, will call, media passes and VIP packages.

In-Field Crowd ControlFlag off dangerous portions of in-field.  Monitor spectators in those areas.  Monitor track crossing and crowd control.  Assist spectators needs within the in-field. Assist media and turn-workers when requested.  Act as information points for spectators or participants. All volunteers working in this area will know proper procedures for emergencies or reporting of incidents.

Traffic Control (Entrance Gate) - Monitor parking lots and coordinate with scout group (that assists with parking) best space utilization.  Monitor and control vehicles entering into the paddock area (They need a sticker or must surrender driver's license and are issued a 30-minute drop-off pass.).  Coordinate with Event Coordinators the pick-up point for "expired time limit "driver's licenses.  (License will be returned to owner after collecting entrance fee money.)  Communicate with Car Corral, Tickets, Event Coordinators and/or SOVREN Organization representative regarding special situations and trying to accommodate special needs such as Handicapped parking or vendors.

First Aid -  Coordinate with Medic Unit and Ambulance team on areas of responsibility. Handle lost child/lost adult communications with Security.  Respond to first aid calls of spectators and guild.  Must be certified.

Decorations -  Coordinate decorating of areas prior to PNWH Weekend and on the Saturday of “On-Track” Barbecue. 

Ticket Entrance -   Greet people as they come through the gate, take their tickets, assist security check bags and backpacks and count the number of people coming into the races.  Act as information points for spectators or participants. All volunteers working in this area will know proper procedures for emergencies or reporting of incidents.

Pedestrian Crossing -  Follow direction from track official and work in coordination with track crossing volunteers on opposite side of track to quickly and safely route spectators.  Act as information points for spectators or participants. All volunteers working in this area will know proper procedures for emergencies or reporting of incidents.

Auction Set-up -   Set-up silent auction on Saturday of PNWH in party area; monitor auction and arrange closing time; coordinate cashiering and pickup of items.

Take DownWork with the take down coordinator to prepare trailer for going to storage unit (i.e. packing boxes, cleaning up the site etc.)


Car Corral -  During the event the committee is responsible for arrangement of Car Corral area, awards and the noon "on track" parade laps.

Floater – Work with the volunteer coordinator and fill in areas of need around the track/races when needs arise.  Meet, greet, and sign in volunteers as they arrive at track.  Prepare volunteer area. 


Volunteer Food Services – Coordinate and deliver lunches and drinks to guild members and volunteer staff during the course of the event (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).  Coordinate with Expediter delivery of items to track. Set-up system to make food and drinks available to all volunteers when needed.

 

Pace Cars Coordinate rides in Pace cars for VIP’s, media and give-away recipients throughout race weekend. 

Souvenirs -   Set-up displays prior to event, sales and coordination of items to be sold at souvenir and driver's services locations.  Inventory and packing of remaining items after the event.

Assist Vendors -   Arrange for check-in on event weekend.  Do follow-up throughout weekend to assure vendors' needs are being met and assist them where possible.  Coordinate with Sponsor Committee and SOVREN Organization on comp vendors and their needs.

 

Assist Junior GuildsWork with the volunteer services coordinator to assist the junior guild with games, speed pitch machine, selling programs etc.
